American Nonwoven Fabric Mill establishments are primarily engaged in manufacturing nonwoven fabrics and felts. Processes used include bonding and/or interlocking fibers by mechanical, chemical, thermal, or solvent means, or by combinations thereof. Fabrics produced by this industry are generally made by heating fibers mixed with liquids, and bonding them into a thin flat sheet. This is a different process to other fabric production processes that knit or weave fibers and yarns into fabrics. Nonwoven fabrics have the advantages of being cheaper to produce, and flexible for further processing and usage.
